Top Navigation and Maps Apps in Switzerland on Android in Q4 2024

In the fourth quarter of 2024, several navigation and maps applications demonstrated notable performances on the Android platform in Switzerland. Data from Sensor Tower reveals interesting trends among the top five apps in this category.

Polarsteps Travel maintained a consistent download rate, starting at 3.6K in early October and peaking at 3.7K by the end of December. Its weekly active users began at 50.5K, briefly rising to 56.6K in mid-October before experiencing a gradual decline, ending the quarter at approximately 41.3K.

Google Earth showed a stable download trend, fluctuating between 1.2K and 1.7K weekly. The app's active user base saw a decline from 26.5K to 20.7K in early December, then rebounded to 26.5K by the end of the quarter.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced a varied download pattern, starting at 1.3K downloads and reaching a peak of 1.7K in mid-December. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 37K to 39K throughout the quarter.

swisstopo had an interesting download trajectory, beginning at 1.5K and dipping to 526 in early December, before climbing back to 1.3K by the end of the year. Its active user count followed a similar pattern, starting at 117.6K, dropping to 65.6K in early December, and recovering to 132.2K by the end of December.

Finally, Radarbot Speed Camera Detector showed a steady increase in revenue, peaking at $4.3K in late December. Weekly downloads varied, with a notable increase to 1.6K in early December, before settling at 758 by the end of the quarter. Active users rose from 5.9K to a peak of 10.7K during the same period.
